Final Touchdown Of Space Shuttle Discovery...

Space Shuttle Discovery (Orbiter Vehicle Designation: OV-103) was one of the orbiters in the Space Shuttle fleet of NASA, the space agency of the United States, operating from its maiden flight beginning on August 30, 1984 until its final landing on March 9, 2011 with a cumulative total of one full year (365 days) in space; the longest of any spaceship in the world.

I had the huge privilege of watching the final touchdown live over the Internet via CNN. For me it was a sentimental moment. Being an astronomy enthusiast, I know what it means to astronomers to say goodbye to a piece of engineering with a heart and a soul.

Here I am sharing some images I took from the live broadcast of the Final Moments of Space Shuttle Discovery.

P.S: We’ll soon see this magnificent giant as an Autobot on Transformers: Dark Of The Moon.

...The Milestone

We take long journeys and hard decisions
Then something might go wrong
But, should we give-up at that point, we are not just disappointing ourselves
We then are letting-down the people who helped us to come this far
But there are those who would not look back at you...
No matter how close you were to them in the past
That doesn't mean we should be like that
We should be more
Give to those who gave
Give to those who didn't gave
What's the difference? you might ask
The difference is "all the difference in the world"
For that difference differs who we are
When one day, your earth goes dark
You'll see that there is at-least one person holding a light for you
It maybe just one person, but be glad at least you have one
Because there are some who have none
Why? Because they had left the people who gave
There is no one to give to them now
See that... That's the difference
But... one day, you'll reach a milestone
Only you'd know
Look back...
Say "Thank You!"
That makes you a better person than the rest of the world
Till All Are One!
